Neuroscience is a field of study dealing with the structure or function of the brain. It is of particular interest to LessWrong both because it can shed light on AI, and because it is often helpful for rationality. For example, understanding how attentional control works can inform possible solutions.

Some specific theories of neuroscience:

  • Predictive processing
  • FEP/Active Inference
  • A Thousand Brains theory
